General Notes | Lexie captures everything people love about chocolate labs! She is incredibly affectionate, deeply loyal, and possesses a steady, happy-go-lucky nature that makes her an absolute joy to be around. She is a true people-pleaser who loves nothing more than being your dedicated shadow, always ready to lean in for a good scratch behind the ears or offer a gentle head rest on your lap. Whether she's stepping out for a pleasant afternoon stroll or settling in for a cozy evening at home, Lexie is ready to bring a lifetime of mature devotion, gentle companionship, and pure sweetness to her perfect forever family.

Personality | Super sweet and happy! She's a total lover who loves to cuddle!

Lexie is very sweet, affectionate, loyal, and a total snuggle bug. She just wants to be wherever her humans are and will be your steadfast shadow as you move around the house. She is a perfect remote co-worker and settles nicely on a dog bed in the office or anywhere you decide to sit down as long as you are within eyeshot. She is playful and energetic with her labrador foster sister and takes cues well when the roughhousing occasionally goes a little too far. She is not necessarily treat-motivated but is a quick learner who takes cues well from her foster brother. She settles in quickly to daily routines. She has been allowed free roam of the house for up to six hours at a time with no accidents or destructive behavior. Her DNA results showed that's she's 30% Great Pyrenees and she can be found walking the perimeter of her house to make sure her humans are safe from intruders! She also may bark at passing dogs and squirrels through the window. :)

Story | Pulled from a high kill shelter in Alabama before making her way to Colorado to find a forever home!

Other Dogs | Great with other dogs!

Cats | Lives with a foster sister and is very gentle and kind. No concerns!

Children | Lexie is a sweetheart and is great with kids! She previously lived with kids and adores them!

Training | She's potty trained, crate trained and knows some basic commands. She's an athletic girl who can jump shorter fences and would do best with a 6 foot fence.

Leash | She walks well on a leash with a gentle lead.

Activity Level | Moderate/high. She likes to chase her foster dog sibling as they chase the ball!

Health Notes | Healthy and happy :)

Thank you!

Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $575 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year old, $525 for 1 - 6 years old, $475 for dogs 7 - 10 years old, and $350 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $625. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, transportation to Colorado, and supplies while in foster care (that currently average over $750 per dog).

Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet and greets by appointment to approved applicants only. To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process. We will not respond to emails about animal availability or allow meet and greets without an approved adoption application on file.

Please Note | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption. We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved. Your application is good for one year from the date of applying for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle.

We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page!
