Summer Smiles The Sunshine Girl

Summer Smiles is believed to be a German Shepherd mix, about 4 years old and weighing 45 lbs. She's a petite girl who is the very definition of a social butterfly! Summer loves everyone she meets and has an incredibly friendly and goofy personality. She's a go-with-the-flow kind of gal who is happy wherever she is or whoever she's with. She's also dog-friendly and has enjoyed romping and playing with dogs of all temperaments. Summer even did great meeting a resident cat and was respectful of his space. She's a smart girl who already knows how to sit, walks well on a leash, and is crate and potty trained.

Ideal Home

Summer would love a home with a backyard where she can run and play, but she could also thrive in an apartment or condo. She enjoys being around people, so a home where she can be part of the family's social life would be wonderful. She also adores children and has made an instant connection with a 7-year-old.

Ongoing Health

No specific health concerns are noted, but she is up-to-date on vetting.

Training & Support

Summer is already doing great with her basic commands, leash walking, and is house and crate trained. She loves treats, so positive reinforcement training will be very effective!

Summer is located in Texas and is available for transport nationwide via our rescue's USDA-certified transport system. There are designated drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada. Transport to Canada includes pick-up options in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT. A $87 surcharge applies due to transportation costs. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
