About TEDDY

Teddy is approximately 3.5 years old and weighs 10 pounds. DNA testing indicates he's a mix of Chihuahua, Yorkie, Bichon, and three other breeds. When he first arrived, his coat was severely matted, requiring a shave-down. Thankfully, his fur has regrown beautifully, and he's now a very handsome boy who will need regular grooming to maintain his good looks. Teddy also had mature cataracts in both eyes. He underwent successful cataract surgery and, after a period of healing with eye medication, now has excellent vision! He truly loves being a lap dog and is always eager to snuggle up with his foster. Teddy generally gets along well with other dogs, though he prefers calmer companions and can become unhappy if overly active dogs get too close or in his face. He can be a bit protective of his food and doesn't like to share. For these reasons, we believe Teddy would do best as an only dog or with a mature, quiet canine friend. He is fairly well-house-trained, although not perfectly so. He walks nicely on a leash and absolutely loves car rides. Teddy is sure to make a wonderful companion for the right person.

Ideal Home

Teddy would do best as an only dog or with an older, quieter companion dog. He is not suited for homes with children under 8 years old and requires experienced dog owners.

Ongoing Health

Teddy has had successful cataract surgery on both eyes and now has great eyesight. He is up-to-date on all vaccinations, microchipped, spayed/neutered, and on monthly preventatives for heartworms, fleas, ticks, and parasites.

Training & Support

Teddy can be snippy with his food and does not like to share. He is fairly well-house-trained but not perfect. He does well on a leash.
