Sunny is a 5-year-old, 65-pound Australian Cattle Dog with a heart full of sweetness and energy to spare! He's got a wonderful uniqueness about him; his right eye is placed a little differently than most dogs, making him extra special. This feature doesn't cause him any trouble and only adds to his undeniable charm. Sunny is new to our shelter, having transferred from another Minnesota rescue. He was a beloved family dog, but he became a bit too protective of the children in his home. While he absolutely adores kids, he felt the need to be on constant guard duty for them. Because of this, Sunny needs an adopter who can help him build healthy boundaries and reassure him that he doesn't need to be on high alert all the time.
Here at the shelter, Sunny is a true ray of sunshine! He loves to dash outside to take in the fresh air and explore all the exciting scents and sights around him. He's made some canine pals here and gets along best with submissive dogs who don't jump on him. He's already mastered potty training and will happily sit for a tasty treat! This friendly guy is more than ready to join a loving family once again.
Ideal Home
Sunny would thrive in a home that can help him build confidence and establish good boundaries. He has previously been a bit too protective of children, so he would do best in a home that can provide him with consistent guidance and reassurance.
Ongoing Health
Sunny is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all his vaccinations.
Training & Support
Sunny is already potty trained and knows how to sit for a treat! He would benefit from an adopter who can continue to work on his confidence and reinforce positive behaviors. He prefers to interact with dogs who are submissive and do not jump on him.
