About Velvet
Hi, I’m Velvet 🖤🐾
I’m a petite 6-year-old Husky girl, and I’m brand new to indoor life after spending my entire life as an outdoor dog. Everything is still a bit new and interesting to me—but I’m learning fast, and I’m already starting to show what a sweet, adaptable girl I can be. Because I’m just discovering the inside world, I’m very curious about everything. Little things like snack wrappers, dropped crumbs, new smells, or open doorways are all very exciting to me. I approach life with an independent, observant Husky spirit, always taking things in at my own pace and keeping an eye out for what’s next. I approach life on my own terms, always keeping an eye out for the next tasty reward while taking in each new experience as it comes. Even with all the newness, I’ve been doing super well in foster care. I’ve quickly picked up on routines, I’m crate trained, and I’ve had zero accidents in the house. I settled into structure faster than anyone expected—even if I was a little unsure at first, I learned quickly and adjusted beautifully. I’m also very affectionate with people. Once I feel comfortable, I enjoy attention and connection, and I’m showing more and more of my sweet personality every day. I already know how to sit, and I’m highly food motivated, which makes learning new things pretty fun for me. With other dogs, I’ve been friendly and even playful—I’ve especially enjoyed spending time with dog friends. I’m still learning boundaries and can be a bit opportunistic (especially when I think there might be an exit or something interesting nearby), so I do best with a bit of supervision and structure as I continue to settle in. I can be a little unsure in new situations—car rides, new spaces, and unfamiliar transitions can make me nervous at first—but I recover quickly and adjust well once I understand what’s happening around me. At heart, I’m still figuring out what it means to live indoors, be part of a home, and trust that I don’t have to figure everything out on my own anymore. But every day, I’m getting a little more confident, a little more relaxed, and a little more connected. Maybe the next chapter of my story is waiting with you!
Ideal Home
Northern breeds like me often have higher exercise, training, and care needs. If you’re new to Huskies or similar breeds, we highly recommend doing a bit of research before applying. I do best with a bit of supervision and structure as I continue to settle in.
