About Brooklyn

Deaf dogs can do anything except hear—and I’m living proof of that! My name is Brooklyn, and I’m a 1 year, 4 month old Labrador Retriever mix weighing in at 53 pounds of pure love and joy. I may have been born deaf, but that doesn’t slow me down one bit. I communicate by reading hand signals like “sit,” “come,” and “no,” and I’m really good at picking up cues from other dogs, too! I’m house-trained and crate-trained, and I pride myself on being a happy-go-lucky girl who sees every single day as a brand-new adventure. Whether I’m chasing tennis balls, playing with boxes, or sniffing out hidden treats, I bring my playful, quirky energy wherever I go. I don’t have a mean bone in my body—I love kids, I adore other dogs, and I’m always ready to snuggle up for a cozy nap (my absolute favorite pastime!). I love being outside, spending time with my people, and, of course, being spoiled with treats and tennis balls. I'm a special dog who needs a special adopter—and I just know my perfect match is out there. If you’re looking for a sweet, silly, snuggly companion who will make every day brighter, I might just be your girl.

Ideal Home

A family that understands I'm still learning and will help me feel safe, especially with leash training.

Ongoing Health

I do have a heart murmur. It doesn’t need medication right now, but it might someday.

Training & Support

I can be a little stubborn when I really want something, and leashes still freak me out, but I’m working on it! With patience and practice using a halter, I’m getting better each time. I remind you when the water bowl needs refilling and then try to curl up in the tiniest spot next to you—because I don’t quite understand my size!
