Sweet Melina is a delightful mix of Terrier and Blue Lacy. Can you imagine living in a cold, roofless garage with dirty straw, no food or water, and a chain only 4 feet long in the bitter winter? We can't either, but that was Melina's life before rescue!

Melina joined MADR in February, emaciated and scared. Since arriving in her temporary foster home, Melina has blossomed with confidence and gained a healthy weight! She's a very active and goofy girl who adores giving hugs and kisses. Melina is also a big-time snuggle bug who loves people and exploring new places. A trip to the pet store is particularly enriching for her, as she loves to sniff everything! Melina has been spayed, is up-to-date on her shots, and is house and crate trained. She's also dog-social after a proper introduction.

Ideal Home

Melina would thrive in a home with children aged 7 and older and requires a completely enclosed, physically fenced yard. She cannot live with cats.

Ongoing Health

Melina is spayed and up-to-date on all vaccinations.

Training & Support

Melina is house and crate trained and dog-social after a proper introduction. We require all dogs over the age of 1 year to attend one obedience class (a 6-week session) outside the home.
