Nelson is a handsome 1-year-and-7-month-old male pup with a white dapple coat, weighing in at about 59 pounds. While the shelter environment can be a bit overwhelming for him initially, Nelson has quickly charmed his way into the hearts of our staff and volunteers! He can take a little time to warm up to new people, but the patience and love you offer will be incredibly rewarding. Nelson is looking for a kind and understanding adopter who can show him that the world is a wonderful place. Once he feels safe and comfortable with you, he absolutely blossoms! He adores receiving pets and will happily lean in for cuddles. He's also a playful pup who enjoys his toys and will proudly offer them to you with a goofy play bow! Nelson's true, exuberant energy shines when he feels secure. He can get quite enthusiastic and lively during playtime, so he'd thrive in a home with older children (ages 12 and up) who can match his big personality. He has also done well in doggy playgroups here, displaying a fun-loving, rough-and-tumble play style. With slow and proper introductions, he might even do well with a canine companion!

Nelson needs a patient adopter who can help him feel safe and confident. He would do best in a home with older children (12+) who can match his energetic and playful nature. He may be able to live with another dog if introductions are done slowly and carefully.
