Jaydee - Foster home needed

Jaydee was found as a stray in Vancouver and has had a few transitions in his life before finding his way to us. He's about 4 years old and is looking for his forever home where he can finally settle down. Jaydee can be described as a unique character with a lot of personality! He's a smart and curious boy who loves to explore and observe the world from a high vantage point. He's also quite resourceful, as he's figured out how to open drawers and climb onto counters to get the best view.

Ideal Home

Jaydee would thrive in a home with a large, securely fenced yard or acreage where he can roam freely. He would love a doggy door so he can easily go in and out as he pleases. He is not suitable for an apartment setting or for first-time dog owners. He would prefer to be the only dog in the home, but can co-exist with a calm, neutered dog with proper introductions. He is not recommended for homes with small children.

Ongoing Health

Jaydee is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and up-to-date on flea treatment and deworming. He was previously touch-sensitive around his neck, possibly due to past use of a shock collar, but this has been worked through.

Training & Support

Jaydee can be easily distracted when off-leash, so keeping him on a leash or long line is recommended for his safety. He can also get overly excited by doorbells and new visitors, sometimes redirecting his energy onto whatever is closest. This can be managed with a dedicated human who can help him channel his energy. He may also "demand bark" when asked to do something. He enjoys his crate and can sit inside with the door open.
