Teddy is a charming and sweet boy who is approximately 3.5 years old and weighs about 10 lbs. His DNA test indicates he's a delightful mix of Chihuahua, Yorkie, Bichon, and three other breeds. When he was rescued, he was quite matted, so he had to be shaved down. His coat has grown back beautifully, and he's now a handsome pup who will require regular grooming. Teddy also had mature cataracts in both eyes. He underwent successful cataract surgery and, after a period of healing with eye medication, now has excellent vision. He absolutely loves to be a lap dog and will eagerly climb onto his foster's lap for cuddles. He generally gets along well with other dogs, but can become unhappy with overly active ones that invade his space. Teddy also prefers to eat his food in peace and may become protective if other dogs try to share his meal. We believe he would do best as an only dog or with an older, quieter canine companion. He is mostly house-trained, walks well on a leash, and adores car rides. Teddy is sure to be a wonderful companion for the right person!
Ideal Home
We do not adopt to homes with children under the age of 8 years. He is best suited for experienced dog owners. Teddy prefers a quieter environment and would likely do best as an only dog or with an older, calmer dog. He needs a home where he can eat his meals without interruption.
Ongoing Health
Teddy has had successful cataract surgery on both eyes and now has great eyesight. He is up-to-date on all his vaccinations and monthly preventatives.
Training & Support
Teddy is fairly well house-trained but not perfect. He walks well on a leash and enjoys car rides. He can become snappy if other dogs try to eat his food, so this is something to be mindful of.
