Meet Jack! He's a handsome, approximately 4-5 year old, 61-pound Carolina Dog-type mix with a big heart and a love for life's simple pleasures. Jack made his way to us from Georgia and is now enjoying his time in New Jersey, patiently waiting for his forever family. He loves finding sunny spots to relax in, watching the birds, going for peaceful walks, and even enjoys car rides. Jack is a well-mannered gentleman who is housebroken and crate trained. He's happiest when he's by his people's side, offering quiet companionship.
Ideal Home
Jack would do best in a home with a fenced-in yard where he can safely explore. Due to a past incident where he was attacked by another dog, Jack can be timid around other dogs, especially when first meeting them. He is not aggressive, just a bit shy. He would thrive in a calm, quiet home environment with adults and older children, where he can feel secure and take his time to adjust. He might also do well with a calm, gentle companion dog.
Ongoing Health
Jack successfully underwent reconstructive surgery on his eye after an incident prior to his rescue. The surgery was a great success, and his eye is now perfectly normal and requires no further treatment or medications.
Training & Support
Jack is a smart boy who already has a good foundation with house training and crate training. He responds well to positive reinforcement and just needs a little patience and TLC to build his confidence, especially around new dogs. He loves playing with tennis balls and enjoys walks in the park.
