Enzo is offering all the love you are willing to take! He is a handsome black and white Australian Shepherd and Border Collie mix, approximately 4 years old and weighing between 65-70 pounds. Enzo is a pretty laid-back boy who enjoys pets, playing with toys, playing ball, carrying his favorite toys around, and taking lots of naps. His former owner had a medical issue and was unable to continue caring for him. Enzo lived with another dog and cat and has since settled in very well in his foster home with two Aussies and two cats. He plays very well with his foster siblings, even though they are smaller than him, and he absolutely loves cats!
Enzo is very sweet and gentle and knows commands like "sit" and "come." He is a good listener and always comes when called. He can have a loud bark and uses it appropriately, but sometimes he lets out a few barks for fun or a whine when he wants something or attention. Enzo does great on his own and with his foster siblings. He really loves toys and balls and will play fetch as long as you'll allow, gently bringing them back for another round. He will occasionally de-stuff his toys, but that's normal playful behavior. He carries his toys around the house, outside, and even to bed.
Ideal Home
Enzo would do well in a home with a physically fenced yard. He has not been around small children, so a home without them would be best. He is not bothered by loud noises, storms, or other household activities.
Ongoing Health
Enzo is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped, and receiving monthly preventatives. He is not fond of the vet's office and is best muzzled for any preventative care.
Training & Support
Enzo will give an appropriate low growl when presented with his favorite treat, dog ice cream. He has initially exhibited a bit of resource guarding with a resident dog, which was easily corrected. He is a good eater and knows when it's time for his special wet food. Enzo is not a big fan of crates and is secured with a gate instead; he would do fine in a gated room. He will bark once or twice at animals or people he can see from the backyard. He is used to visiting dog parks and being leashed for walks. Enzo is fabulous in the car.
