Meet Troubadour, or Tru, a young mixed-breed boy with a heart of gold and a story of incredible resilience! When he first arrived at our rescue, he had been severely neglected. He was painfully underweight and had spent much of his life confined to a crate. Despite everything he's been through, Tru has never stopped loving people. Over the past several months, Tru has blossomed into a happy, affectionate, and playful young dog. He's been working hard on his crate and potty training and continues to make fantastic progress. Considering the life he came from, we're incredibly proud of how far he's come. Tru's favorite thing in the world is being with his people. He soaks up attention, loves affection, and forms strong bonds with those who show him kindness. At just about a year old, he still has that adorable puppy face that will melt your heart and the goofy puppy antics that will keep you smiling every day. Tru gets along well with most dogs and tends to do best with companions his size or smaller. He prefers neutered friends and isn't particularly fond of much larger dogs or intact males. He is currently about 60 lbs and around a year old. Now healthy, thriving, and ready for his next chapter, Tru is heartworm negative, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and searching for a loving forever family. All he needs is someone willing to give him the patience, stability, and love he's always deserved. Tru will enter the Paws in Prison program for 8 weeks to work on house training, and basic obedience. We hope to have a home ready for him by the time he graduates.
