Mara

Mara is a special 3-year-old Lab/Plott hound mix who has been through a lot but is ready for her forever home! She recently had 11 puppies and was a wonderful mother. Unfortunately, she experienced eclampsia and Lyme disease, becoming quite ill. Thankfully, she recovered and her puppies were placed with specialty rescues. Mara comes from a background where she was repeatedly bred, but she is now spayed and will never have to worry about more puppies. She's described as an excellent family dog, a smart girl, and loves car rides.

Ideal Home

Mara would love an active family who will take her on hikes, swims in the river, and long car rides. She is currently living on a farm and getting used to chickens, dogs, and cats.

Ongoing Health

Mara recovered from eclampsia and Lyme disease. She is now spayed.

Training & Support

Mara's foster parents are currently working with her on food guarding.
