Meet Sundance!
Some dogs burst into your life like fireworks. Sundance is more like a sunrise. Quiet, beautiful, and absolutely worth waiting for. Sundance is a young girl (estimated DOB 11/01/2023) who came from Bellwood Stray Crew after being found tied to train tracks. Despite such a heartbreaking start, she has never stopped trying to believe that people can be kind. Every day she takes another small step forward, and watching her confidence grow is one of the most rewarding things imaginable. She is fully house trained, crate trained, and knows "come" and "stay." She's currently working on "sit," although she'd much rather show off her sniffing skills. Her favorite things include food, treat puzzles, exploring the yard with her nose, and soaking up all the interesting smells the outdoors has to offer.
Ideal Home
Sundance's perfect home is a quiet one with patient adopters who understand that the best relationships aren't rushed. If you're looking for a dog who instantly jumps into your lap, she probably isn't your girl. But if you're willing to earn the love of a dog who has overcome so much, you'll discover that the deepest bonds are often the ones built slowly, one small victory at a time. She would likely thrive with another calm, confident dog who can help show her that the world isn't such a scary place or as your one and only.

Training & Support
Sundance is fully house trained and crate trained. She knows "come" and "stay" and is working on "sit." Her biggest hurdle is learning that people are safe. New faces can be overwhelming, and she'll often retreat until she has time to process. She doesn't need someone to "fix" her. She simply needs someone patient enough to let her bloom on her own timeline.
