Meet Ofi' Homma' Golden Retrievers. Halito! (Hello!) My name is Kim Harman, and I am a proud citizen of the Chickasaw Nation. Together with my husband, Kent, we breed Golden Retrievers here in Oklahoma. Our kennel name, Ofi' Homma' Golden Retrievers, is deeply rooted in our Native American heritage. In the Chickasaw language, ofi' means dog and homma' means red. To us, the name is a beautiful tribute to both our family’s roots and the rich, beautiful coats of our beloved red Goldens. Our program is built on the love we have for our own dogs, Kopper and Khloe. We have raised both the sire and dam right here from the time they were puppies. Golden Retrievers are truly exceptional dogs, and Kopper and Khloe perfectly embody the breed's legendary temperament and intelligence. They are incredibly eager to please, remarkably patient, highly trainable, and deeply loving members of our family. Kopper and Khloe have proudly passed these amazing traits down to their puppies. We believe the best puppies are raised right in the heart of the home. Instead of using an outside kennel or barn, our litters live indoors on a dedicated tile area in our front room. Their spacious 4x9 ft indoor pen gives them room to stretch out, play with toys, and relax, while a designated potty tray in the back helps them build great bathroom habits early on. When it is time for outdoor fun, our puppies have the best of both worlds. They get to safely explore our large, shaded, and securely fenced yards—playing on the grass and porches, and running chase with our older dogs, Kopper and Khloe. Best of all, they get a head start on farm socialization by watching our cows, chickens, and horse right through the fence! Socialization is a key step in preparing puppies for their new families. By inviting a wide range of friends and family members to play with them, we expose the puppies to different ages, languages, and personalities. This broad exposure helps them build confidence, adapt to varied environments, and develop the skills needed to be well-adjusted companions in their adoptive homes.
