Alfie

I am Alfie! I embody many spirited personalities. I can be Thor, with a bark like distant thunder and a swift, powerful presence. I also channel Petey from the Little Rascals, with a similar look and a huge love for children. And when I'm Cuddles, I just want to snuggle – even though I weigh 60lbs, I'm convinced I can fit on your lap! I'm also Sherlock Holmes, eager to investigate everything. Since leaving the shelter for a vacation, I've discovered fascinating things, like the needle-fingered furry critter known as a cat. She's quite funny-looking and doesn't seem to care for me, but I certainly adore her! Yesterday, she allowed me to nap beside her without incident. I even got to sleep in a bed, and let me tell you, it was wonderfully soft and comfy – a stark contrast to the cold, hard shelter floor. After the human went to sleep, I snuggled up to him for warmth, which I also enjoyed. I also met some other dogs on my trip: a block-headed bully who enjoyed tackling me and a small, slipper-like dog who initially growled at me. I won her over with a "tongue bath" to her head!

Ideal Home

A loving home where I can continue to explore and learn would be wonderful. I absolutely adore children and would love to be part of a family.

While I'm not easily bribed by treats, I respond very well to praise and affection. I learned to sit in just a few hours with this method, and I'm eager to learn anything my new family wants to teach me!
