Hi, I’m Auggie! I’m a 6-year-old lab mix who’s still learning that the world can be a safe and happy place. I came from a hoarding situation, so new people can make me a little nervous at first. Because of that, I’m looking for someone patient and understanding who will give me the time I need to feel comfortable. However, I am now a proud graduate of the Confidence College program! Once I warm up, you’ll see a whole different side of me. I love hanging out with my people, soaking up pets, enjoying tasty snacks, and just being part of your world. I’m also a huge toy fan... seriously... I love ALL toys! I’ll happily bounce around, play, and entertain myself, especially when I’m feeling happy and comfortable. I’m a big fan of walks too, especially when I can take my time and sniff all the sights and smells around me. It’s one of my favorite ways to explore and relax. And when the day winds down? That’s when my cuddly side really comes out. Once I trust you, I’m a total snuggler who just wants to be close to my favorite people. If you’re willing to be patient and let me come out of my shell at my own pace, I promise you’ll be rewarded with a sweet, playful, and incredibly loyal companion. I can’t wait to meet you and start building that special bond together.
Ideal Home
I’d do best as your one-and-only pup (no other dogs for me), and I’m looking for a home that isn’t an apartment, where I can have a little more space to feel comfortable and be myself. I need a home with kids 6 years old and older since I tend to be nervous around new people and loud noises. If you have kids in the home aged 6-9, I will need to meet them since I can be nervous around new people and loud noises. I like to use my voice when I am excited, so shared living spaces are not ideal.
Ongoing Health
My adoption comes with a free 30-minute private training session. For my safety, I need to go home on an anti-slip collar called a martingale collar.
Training & Support
I am enrolled in LIFT University, a program for dogs to build confidence in new situations and work on managing energy. Things like walking on a leash and going through doorways can be challenging for me and I will likely need extra time to adjust to home life. New people and things make me a little nervous, so let's take things slow.
