Cody is a handsome 5-year-old, 90 lb gentle soul with long legs and soft eyes. He may seem large at first glance, but he carries himself with a quiet grace, preferring to lean into his people for comfort rather than take up too much space. Cody thrives on connection, but he offers it on his own terms. When he feels safe and trusts you, he'll lean into you with a tenderness that feels like a special kind of hug, a reward for your patience and understanding.
He can be a bit slow to warm up to new people and environments, as he can find them overwhelming. Cody truly blossoms with a calm, predictable routine and a steady hand. Once he settles in, which may take a week or two, he becomes an easy companion. He's not a dog with boundless energy; he's more of a "coexist peacefully" kind of guy with other dogs, preferring quiet company and space over boisterous play. His ideal canine companion is one who understands his need for personal space and enjoys a relaxed pace, much like his Great Pyrenees foster sibling. Cody also showed impressive composure and gentle curiosity when meeting the resident cat, demonstrating he could peacefully share his home with a feline friend, especially one who respects boundaries. Car rides are a favorite pastime for Cody, where he enjoys being your low-key road trip buddy.
Ideal Home
Cody would thrive in a peaceful and predictable home environment. While a yard would be a nice bonus, the most important factor is a calm energy. He needs a patient and kind adopter who understands he needs a moment to exhale and feel at home before he can truly shine. He has shown he can live peacefully with cats.
Ongoing Health
Cody is up-to-date on all vetting and has no specific health conditions noted.
Training & Support
Cody may take some time to settle in and build trust with new people and in new environments. A consistent routine and a calm space will help him feel secure.
