Sonny

Meet Sonny, a one-year-old, 7.7-pound Rat Terrier who is truly Mr. Sunshine! He's a bundle of personality, initially a bit timid, but with a little love and attention, he blossoms into a sweet, affectionate, and cuddly companion who loves to be close to his human. Sonny enjoys sleeping through the night and will happily snuggle up in your bed. He loves to prance and zoom around the yard, making a fenced-in yard a must for his safety and happiness.

Ideal Home

Sonny is good with children and other small dogs. He is afraid of large dogs and avoids cats, so a home without them would be best. A securely fenced yard is required for him to safely enjoy his zoomies and outdoor play.

Ongoing Health

Sonny is currently underweight and will need a patient adopter who understands his nutritional needs.

Training & Support

Sonny's housetraining and leash walking are ongoing and will require continued positive reinforcement. He seems to have had a negative experience with leashes in the past. Sonny also experiences some separation anxiety and may cry when left alone, though he is not destructive. He is a quiet boy who only barks at unfamiliar sounds.
