I'm a 3-year-old Beagle weighing just 13 pounds, and I have a very soft heart. The world feels very overwhelming, so I tend to take things extra slow and need a little extra time before I trust new people and new situations. I'm looking for an experienced, patient, and loving family who understands that confidence isn't built overnight. A friendly, confident dog is also a must as I'd love a canine role model to help show me that the world isn't such a scary place. Once I feel safe, I know there's a sweet and loyal companion waiting to blossom. All I need is someone willing to give me the time, patience, and love I deserve. These dogs are incredibly sweet, but they will need patient, understanding adopters who are 100% committed to helping them adjust to life as beloved pets.
Ideal Home
A friendly, confident dog is required in the home to help Poppyseed learn routines, build confidence, and adjust more quickly. Safety is critical; Poppyseed is an extreme flight risk and must always be securely managed outdoors with appropriate equipment, as even fenced yards are not enough on their own. Everyday sights, sounds, people, pets, and experiences may be overwhelming at first, so a home that allows Poppyseed to explore the world at their own pace is ideal. Calm voices, gentle handling, and predictable routines will help Poppyseed feel safe, and a home that understands they may shut down when frightened or overstimulated is necessary.
