Lucky Lucio is a sweet and handsome boy who arrived at our rescue in 2021 after being found as a stray in Texas. He was adopted but sadly had to be returned through no fault of his own. Upon his return, we discovered he had a torn CCL, which required surgery. To aid in his recovery, he was placed in a loving foster home. Due to his size and the strain on his other leg from the first injury, he unfortunately sustained a second CCL tear. Lucky has since had surgery on his second leg and is recovering wonderfully in his foster home to minimize stress.
His foster parents describe him as very calm, easygoing, and completely housetrained, never having had an accident. He meets new dogs and people well and is comfortable walking past cats unless they are hiding or running, which can elicit a little excitement. Lucky is easily redirected on walks and is a pleasure to stroll with. He adores receiving a Greenie after a long walk and even does a little dance if one is forgotten! He is an excellent car rider and enjoys exploring the outdoors. Most of all, Lucky loves to cuddle on the couch, either with his people or in his own spot. He is the perfect companion for someone seeking a calm and easygoing friend.
Ideal Home
Lucky would love a home where he can relax and cuddle. He is comfortable around cats unless they are hiding or running, but generally does well with redirection. All household members, including children and other dogs, must meet him to ensure a good fit.
Ongoing Health
Lucky has undergone surgery for two torn CCLs and is recovering well.
Training & Support
Lucky is completely housetrained and is easy to redirect on walks.
