Meet Spiro!

Spiro is a charming and spirited boy, believed to be around 2 years old and weighing approximately 50 lbs. He's a Black Mouth Cur mix with a personality as vibrant as his striking good looks. His captivating eyes, framed by what appears to be permanent eyeliner, are just the beginning of his charm. Found as a stray in Texas, Spiro has been patiently waiting in the shelter since February for his forever family. Despite his unknown past, he remains gentle, hopeful, and incredibly eager to form loving bonds with people. He’s a delightful blend of playful energy and sweet affection, enjoying exploration, games, and plenty of cuddles. Spiro is friendly with other dogs and people, embodying a truly happy-go-lucky spirit.

Ideal Home

Spiro would thrive in a home that offers structure, patience, and abundant love. A fenced yard would be a wonderful addition, providing him space to explore and play, but apartment or condo living may be considered for an adopter dedicated to meeting his exercise and enrichment needs. He is not a fan of cats, so a cat-free environment is essential for his happiness.

Ongoing Health

Spiro is neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and on monthly preventatives. He is currently healthy and ready for his new life.

Training & Support

Spiro is a smart young dog who would benefit from continued guidance in areas such as house training, leash manners, and building confidence in new situations. He occasionally tries to "walk himself" on leash, but with consistent training and positive reinforcement, he'll surely master his manners.
