About Coraline

Coraline is a sweet, laid-back 6-month-old Doberman or Beauceron mix, weighing 45 lbs and expected to reach 85-90 lbs when fully grown. She's a delightful blend of curious, silly, cuddly, and endlessly entertaining, with a quirky charm that will keep you smiling. Coraline adores a game of peek-a-boo and will zoom with delight when you join in! She's deeply people-oriented and enjoys quietly following her humans, offering gentle puppy kisses or a paw on your leg as a sign of affection. Coraline has a wonderfully calm and balanced temperament, making her an excellent work-from-home companion. She's happy entertaining herself with toys but also loves to be near you. She's social with people and other dogs, greeting them calmly before continuing to play or explore. Coraline is the perfect mix of playful yet relaxed, independent yet loving, and goofy yet intuitive – your new best friend and loyal sidekick!

Ideal Home

Coraline is a low to medium energy pup who enjoys short bursts of play. She'd thrive in a home that balances adventure with relaxation, from leisurely walks to cozy evenings on the couch. She loves being involved in her family's daily routine and would be happy with short walks and backyard play sessions. Puzzle toys and interactive games will keep her happily entertained. Coraline can be a little nervous in busy public areas, but with more exposure and socialization as she grows, she has the potential to be an amazing outdoor adventure buddy. She would adore a family that includes her in outdoor adventures while also appreciating her calm, affectionate nature at home. She needs a home with a fenced yard for safe play. She is not suited for apartments or condos due to potential noise sensitivity in busy areas. Coraline absolutely needs to have another dog in her forever home, as she thrives with canine companionship. She would do well with either calmer older dogs or playful, spunky dogs. She loves children and has been around kids from 3 years old to teenagers, but would do best with older children who understand she's a big, goofy puppy who might not realize her size and could potentially knock over a young child or toddler. She could also adapt to living with a cat, preferably one that is dog-friendly and has prior experience with dogs, as she will want to play. Coraline needs her human home more often than not, though a few days a week at doggy daycare would be fine. Public dog parks are not recommended for her.

Ongoing Health

Coraline is up-to-date on all age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed, microchipped, and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. She has a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian and has received any necessary veterinary care while in rescue.

Training & Support

Coraline is potty trained and kennel trained. She sleeps in her kennel at night without fuss but loves to sleep in bed with her foster mom. She uses doggy stairs to get on and off the bed. She is treat-motivated and will readily enter her kennel for treats. Leash training is in progress; she needs additional practice to boost her confidence on walks, but responds well to treats. She alerts her foster mom when she needs to go outside by pacing at the back door and can use a dog door. She needs to be taken out every 3-4 hours initially and kept on a consistent schedule. Using a doggy doorbell by the back door is recommended if a dog door is not available.
