Boomer - FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED — TIME SENSITIVE

Boomer is a charming 6-year-old Border Collie/Heeler mix (Texas Heeler) who is urgently seeking a new home or a temporary foster family due to a change in his current living situation. Boomer has been a cherished member of his family since he was a puppy. He is an intelligent and sensitive working dog who is finding it challenging to adjust to a small rental environment that doesn't provide him with the space he needs to run and decompress. His family and our team believe that with the right environment, consistent structure, and engaging activities, Boomer can once again be a happy and well-adjusted companion.

Ideal Home

Boomer would thrive in a home with an experienced herding or working-breed owner who understands his needs. A securely fenced yard or access to land is essential, and he cannot be in a home with cats or small animals. Due to his sensitive nature and working breed instincts, a home without young children is also recommended.

Ongoing Health

Boomer is neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations. He has no known food aggression.

Training & Support

Boomer is a very smart boy with a solid training foundation. He knows multiple commands and tricks and bonds deeply with his person. While he does well with most dogs, he can sometimes be a bit pushy with other males. Boomer has a strong herding drive and needs plenty of exercise, structure, and mental stimulation to stay happy and balanced. He is not a bad dog, just a working breed who needs an environment where his natural instincts can be channeled positively.
