Meet Ayo! This 3-year-old, 25 lb bundle of joy is a resilient fighter looking for his perfect forever home. Ayo's spirit is completely unbothered by his medical journey, and he's ready to bring an immense amount of love into your life. He's upbeat, affectionate, and fiercely resilient, and he does wonderfully with other canine companions.

Ideal Home

Ayo would do great in a home with other dogs who match his friendly energy but respect his boundaries. A single-story home or a family dedicated to using pet ramps is a must to protect his back. He needs an adopter who sees past the "special needs" label and recognizes the incredibly happy, fast-moving, loving dog he is.

Ongoing Health

Ayo is an Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD) survivor. While his spirit is unstoppable, his future family will need to help him manage his condition. This includes:

• Keeping him on a good joint supplement and maintaining a healthy weight.
• Using ramps instead of letting him jump on and off furniture.
• Monitoring his activity to prevent overexertion.

Due to his medical timeline, Ayo cannot be neutered for another 9 months. His forever family will need to commit to keeping him safely managed and separated from unspayed females until he can safely undergo his surgery.

Training & Support

Ayo is an active dog who loves life! With proper management of his IVDD, he can continue to live his fullest.
