About MOCHI

Cricket and Mochi have overcome so much and are finally ready for a forever home—together. These sweet, gentle, and loving girls are looking for their happy ending, and we know they'll bring so much joy to the right family!

Cricket and Mochi came to us with a story, a whole chapter book of resilience. They were part of a heartbreaking surrender when their owner had to enter a nursing home. We were honored to help bring these ten dogs to safety, but Cricket and Mochi needed more than just rescue; they needed healing. After multiple surgeries, dental care, and a whole lot of TLC, these brave ladies are now healthy, comfortable, and ready for their forever home—always together.

Meet Mochi: Mochi is a 7+ year old, 14 lb Wire-Haired Terrier Mix with a permanently grumpy little face that hides a calm, affectionate cuddle bug. She's the confident one of the pair, quietly watching over Cricket. Mochi had several masses removed, all benign. She may develop more in the future, but she is currently happy and feeling great. She also has a heart murmur and is on medication, but is asymptomatic. Mochi is calm, affectionate, loyal, confident, and easygoing. She loves frozen Kongs and is great on leash.

Meet Cricket: Cricket is an 8+ year old, 13 lb Chihuahua with a gentle, sensitive soul who has overcome so much. She arrived with a large hernia and a damaged eye, both now successfully treated, and she's finally living pain-free. Cricket is shy at first, but once she trusts you, she melts into soft affection and belly rubs. She leans on Mochi for confidence, and their bond is truly special, which is why we are adopting them as a bonded pair. Cricket is sweet, gentle, loving, and gains confidence from Mochi. She loves bully sticks and prefers shredded chicken mixed with kibble.

Ideal Home

These girls are looking for a calm, stable home where they can continue to thrive together. A fenced yard is required as Cricket is still building leash confidence. They would prefer not to live in an apartment. Ideally, they would do best in a home without small children and with calm, respectful, dog-friendly dogs. They are 90% housebroken, with Mochi being a bit slower to catch on. They are crate trained.

Ongoing Health

Mochi had several masses removed, all benign. She may develop more in the future, but is currently happy and feeling great. She also has a heart murmur and is on medication, but is asymptomatic. Cricket arrived with a large hernia and a damaged eye, both now successfully treated and she is living pain-free.

Training & Support

Cricket is still building leash confidence, which is why a fenced yard is preferred over apartment living. Mochi is 90% housebroken and may need a bit more time to fully catch on.
