Cowboy

Cowboy is a resilient survivor who, despite his past trauma, is ready to embrace a brighter future. He is approximately 2 years old and carries the physical and emotional scars of being used as a bait dog. After being found abandoned and injured, he was brought to the shelter on January 14th, initially terrified and in pain. Cowboy has undergone medical treatment, including being neutered, brought up to date on vaccines, and starting treatment for heartworm. He is cautious with other dogs and may thrive as the only pet in the home, allowing him to feel secure. While he can be hesitant around men, this is understandable given his history, and with time and patience, he is learning to trust again. Cowboy is looking for a loving and unwavering home where he can finally feel safe and cherished.

Cowboy may do best as an only dog, where he can feel secure and without fear. He takes time to warm up to men.

Ongoing Health

Cowboy is heartworm positive but has begun treatment and is on the path to recovery. He has been neutered and is up to date on vaccines.

Training & Support

Cowboy is cautious with other dogs and may need time to adjust to any resident pets. He takes time to warm up to men, so patience and understanding will be key.
