Dex is a 1.5-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix who is smart, loyal, and affectionate. He bonds deeply with his people and is happiest when he feels included and secure. Dex loves to play games like tug of war and catch, and he gets along well with dogs of all sizes. He's also very good at reading social cues and will back off if another dog isn't interested in playing. Dex is an excellent walker, calm on leash, and shows no reactivity towards other dogs. He's intelligent, eager to learn, and responds well to training, enjoying structure and having a "job." He is fully house-trained and crate-trained, sleeping through the night in his crate and behaving well when left out of the crate.
Ideal Home
Dex would thrive in a home with adult adopters who enjoy walks and outdoor time. He is not suitable for a home with cats or small animals due to his strong prey drive. He also does best in an adult-only home or with dog-savvy teens who understand boundaries, as he can sometimes growl when unsure around new people.
Ongoing Health
