Dixie is a petite and gorgeous Kelpie Mix weighing around 40 lbs. Once described as "unsocial" and even placed on a euthanasia list, Dixie was actually battling severe pneumonia, parasites, and heartworms. After receiving life-saving care and extensive treatment, she has completely blossomed in her foster home. Now healthy and vibrant, Dixie is a devoted, happy, and incredibly loving "velcro dog" who is ready to find the forever family she has always deserved. Her happy Kelpie spirit shines through every day, and she's always wearing a smile. She loves to play and wants nothing more than to be by her human's side, making her the ultimate "go everywhere, do everything" companion. Whether you're hiking, running errands, or relaxing on the couch, Dixie is ready to join the ride. She is incredibly devoted and would make a stellar teammate for an active individual or family.

Ideal Home

Dixie would thrive with an active individual or family who wants a dog to integrate into their daily outings. She needs a home WITHOUT cats or small animals due to her strong prey drive. A secure yard for her to run in would be wonderful, or an owner committed to providing daily structured exercise and mental stimulation, as Kelpies love to have a job to do.

Dixie is a devoted shadow dog who loves to be by her human's side. She is described as having a happy Kelpie spirit and enjoys playtime.
