Bubba

Hi there! My name is Bubba, and I'm a handsome 4-year-old Great Pyrenees mix weighing just over 100 pounds. I could stand to gain a few more pounds, but otherwise, I'm doing great! My past is a little sad, but those days are behind me now. I was found as a stray with a prong collar embedded in my neck, but thankfully, the wonderful people who found me took excellent care of me and helped me begin my journey to recovery. Despite everything I've been through, I have remained a gentle giant with a heart full of love. I'm described as incredibly sweet and truly a hunk in the most magnificent way. People often stop to admire me and comment on how handsome I am. I absolutely love being with people. If you stop petting me before I'm ready, I'll gently use my famous "bossy paw" to remind you that more affection is required! I thrive on attention and enjoy spending time with my favorite humans. I also get along wonderfully with other dogs, especially little ones. I've played with dogs of all shapes and sizes and have become especially good friends with Patches, who is also waiting for her forever home. Like many dogs who have had a difficult past, I had a few things to learn. Cars used to be a little scary for me, but I'm gaining confidence every day. Recently, I surprised everyone by hopping right into the back seat of a Tesla and going for a cruise – it turns out I actually enjoyed it! Taking me for a walk is a pleasure. I have lovely leash manners, enjoy long walks, and am easy to handle despite my size. A professional dog trainer has been working with me and describes me as a very chill, easygoing dog. He would even love to meet my future family to help make my transition into a new home as smooth as possible, which is an incredible gift for both me and my adopters! Most of all, I'm looking for a family who will love me, cherish me, and make sure I never experience hardship again. In return, I promise to be a loyal, devoted companion who will shower you with affection, offer plenty of gentle giant snuggles, and remind you every day what a special dog I am. GRCGLA Rescue adopts within the counties of Los Angeles, Ventura, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego. We cannot support adoptions outside of this service area due to pre-adoption screening and post-adoption follow-up requirements.
