Meet Sky, a lovely 4-year-old Staffordshire Terrier/Red Heeler mix who weighs around 60 pounds. Sky is a gentle, calm, and incredibly loyal companion. She walks beautifully on a leash, is submissive, and thrives when by your side. She's leash trained, crate trained, and fully house-trained, making her a breeze to integrate into a loving home. Sky is also wonderfully unbothered by other animals on walks, including cats and squirrels, making her a pleasure to take anywhere. She can be a little shy with new people, but once she feels safe, her sweet and affectionate personality truly shines. Sky was rescued from the streets of Houston, TX, with her siblings after they were abandoned as puppies. Thanks to her rescue, she's experienced love and security and is now seeking a forever family that will provide her with the stable, patient, and loving home she deserves. Ideal Home
We're looking for families who enjoy outdoor activities and have a fenced backyard. Adopters should have an open mind about the needs of rescued street animals, understanding they may require protection and education. Experience in dog behavior and training is preferred, along with a high level of tolerance and patience for rescued dogs.
Ongoing Health
Sky has undergone spaying, DHPPI and rabies vaccinations, Bordetella vaccination, deworming, and a negative heartworm test, all documented with a health certificate and vaccine booklet.
Training & Support
While Sky is generally well-behaved, she is not house-trained. We recognize that our foster homes are often overwhelmed, making it challenging to provide comprehensive house-training for every animal. Adopters should be prepared to continue this training.

- Following application review, we will schedule a phone or email interview with all household members.
- A home check, either virtual or in-person, will be conducted.
- A virtual meet and greet will be arranged with you, the pet, and the foster home.
- If all parties agree it's a good fit, you will receive an adoption contract and embark on a trial adoption period, with ongoing communication with our team being essential.
Transportation
Sky is currently being fostered in Houston, Texas. She is available for transport to the East Coast and the Pacific Northwest. A transport fee of $400.00, paid by the adopter prior to departure, will apply.
