Malouk

Meet Malouk, a distinguished 12-year-old German Shepherd weighing around 85 lbs. Malouk is a gentle soul with a heart full of love, ready to offer quiet companionship. He came to us after his person passed away and, sadly, wasn't receiving the care he deserved for over a year. Now, he's ready for a home where he can be cherished and truly cared for.

This sweet senior is blind, but that doesn't slow him down! He navigates his world with resilience and still finds joy in life's simple pleasures: walks, naps, and plenty of treats. You might even catch a spark of playfulness in him now and then.

Ideal Home

Malouk thrives in a calm, low-key environment where he can feel safe and settled. He would be perfectly content as the only pet in the home. However, he also does well with calm, respectful dogs and cats who understand he can be easily startled due to his blindness.

Ongoing Health

Malouk is blind, and this can sometimes lead to anxiety. He manages well with calming medication and benefits greatly from a consistent routine.

Training & Support

Malouk is potty trained, though he may occasionally mark indoors (he was recently neutered). Belly bands have proven to be a simple and effective solution. He will also need continued leash training, as he can pull, especially when excited or feeling uncertain. He finds comfort in his crate and does best when crated while unsupervised.
