Meeka - Resilient Ball Player!

Meeka is a gorgeous, petite German Shepherd girl with incredibly soft fur and beautiful brown eyes. Around 5-6 years old and weighing about 53lbs, she still has so much love and companionship to offer! Meeka is an owner surrender who found herself without a family due to their lack of time. She can experience anxiety, which may manifest as turning in circles and barking, but this is easily remedied by a quick game of fetch or the offer of a favorite stuffed animal. While she has moments of anxiety, Meeka is typically a calm dog with low to medium energy, reserving her zest for her absolute favorite activity: playing FETCH! She recently had a blast playing soccer with some local high school volunteers, showing her playful spirit. Meeka is sweet, friendly, and incredibly loyal, preferring to stay close to her people and cuddle on the couch. She is exceptionally gentle, even when taking treats or food, and is non-reactive with other dogs. She walks well on a leash and enjoys car rides. We haven't tested her with cats, but she doesn't seem to have a strong prey drive, so she might do well with some gentle introduction.

Ideal Home

Meeka thrives on companionship and loves to be close to her family. She would likely do well in a home that can provide her with opportunities to play fetch and offer comfort during moments of anxiety.

Ongoing Health

Meeka is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations.

Training & Support

Meeka can experience anxiety, which may cause her to turn in circles and bark. This is quickly resolved by engaging her with a ball or a stuffed animal. She is house-trained and does not require a crate. She enjoys grooming and pampering.

Transportation

Meeka is currently being fostered in Houston, TX. She can be transported to a location near you via our reliable transport service, which runs once a month. Her adoption fee is $300, plus $30 for a health certificate and $260 for transport.
