Steve

Steve was discovered outside the local shelter when the employees arrived for work, found in a laundry basket surrounded by trash. He was nothing but skin and bones. Security footage revealed a pickup truck arriving at 4:23 a.m., with three men abandoning Steve and the basket. Due to his condition, humane euthanasia was initially considered. However, Steve's determination to live, raising his head when he realized people cared, showed his will to survive. He has been seen by a vet and is extremely malnourished and neglected, weighing 4-6 pounds underweight. His toenails were so long they were curled under and growing into his pads. Steve has a long road to recovery, but he is getting stronger every day. Keep checking back for updates!
