Looking for a 78-pound lap dog who has absolutely no idea he's 78 pounds? Meet Carbon, the Cuddle King! If love had four legs and a wagging tail, it would look a whole lot like Carbon. He has never met a stranger in his life, believing every new person is simply a friend he hasn't showered with kisses yet. He'll happily trot over, lean his entire body against your legs, and politely request what he believes every human exists for: endless pets, head scratches, belly rubs, and affection. Despite his size, Carbon is utterly convinced he's a lap dog and somehow makes it work, gently climbing into your lap for cuddles, wrapping you in the sweetest hugs, and covering you in kisses.
Carbon's foster family discovered he's a husky/pitty mix with a whole lot of rescue magic. His charcoal-black coat feels like velvet, and he's topped with majestic ears and the sweetest smile. He's a fantastic work-from-home companion, happy to curl up quietly near his favorite person. When he's not collecting cuddles, Carbon is playful and loves his toys, especially stuffed animals. He also enjoys romping with his foster siblings, wrestling and playing chase. Carbon is an A+ roommate, getting along beautifully with all five of his foster siblings. While his feelings on cats are still a mystery, we'd love to see how he'd do with a confident feline friend.
Ideal Home
Carbon dreams of a home where he'll have a family to call his own. A fenced yard would be a bonus for playtime, but the people inside the home are what matter most. He's not looking for perfection, but for connection. He wants someone whose lap he can claim, whose feet he can warm, and whose heart he can fill with kisses and unconditional love.

Carbon is a social, respectful, and easygoing dog. He's been assessed by trainers on staff, and any necessary behavior modifications and individualized plans have been implemented to prepare him for his future family.

Transportation
Carbon is currently in Texas. We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our USDA-certified transport system, ensuring pets travel safely and comfortably with 24/7 care. Drop-off locations are available in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada. Canadian adopters can pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT. A $87 surcharge applies due to rising transportation costs. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
