Rocky is currently homeless and needs a patient foster or adopter.
Rocky has a confession to make: he's a certified girls' guy. Ladies? Fantastic. The fellas? Well...let's just say he's currently accepting applications for a "Men Are Suspicious Until Proven Otherwise" support group. If your household is a Girls Only Zone, Rocky is already packing his bags. This handsome, fluffy three-year-old, 55-pound American Staffordshire Terrier, Australian Cattle Dog, and English Shepherd mix has been patiently waiting since March 2024 for someone who understands that the best relationships take time. Beneath his cautious exterior is one of the sweetest, most devoted dogs you'll ever meet. Rocky is shy when meeting new people and prefers to make introductions on his own terms. But once you've earned his trust, you've got a best friend for life. He'll happily cash in belly rubs, cover you with kisses, snuggle beside you on the couch, and insist on being your bedtime cuddle buddy. His loyalty runs deep, and his bond with his person is something truly special. He's house-trained, crate-trained, non-destructive, and generally quiet around the house. Rocky loves puzzle toys, training games, and anything involving treats (he's convinced snacks solve most of life's problems). He also rides beautifully in the car and enjoys peaceful walks and quiet adventures where he can take in the world without the chaos. He's a scared little fella so he needs a lot of reassurance that all is okay.
Ideal Home
Rocky thrives in a calm, predictable home with experienced adopters who understand that confidence can't be rushed. He'd do best in a quiet, adult-only home where life is peaceful and routines stay consistent. A securely fenced (non-electric) yard is important so Rocky can safely explore and build confidence at his own pace. Cats and small animals aren't his thing, and he's much more of a homebody than a social butterfly. Guests? He'd rather politely excuse himself to his crate or another room with a tasty chew while everyone else mingles.
Ongoing Health
Rocky is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative.
Training & Support
Rocky is house-trained, crate-trained, and non-destructive. He is generally quiet around the house and loves puzzle toys and training games. During his first few days home, Rocky simply asks for patience. No pressure, no forced interactions, no overwhelming expectations. Give him space to settle in, and before long you'll start seeing the goofy, affectionate boy hiding underneath.
