Meet Penny, a delightful 2-year-old, 62-pound spayed female Shepherd/Husky mix bursting with personality and affection. Penny is a curious, social, and adventurous girl who loves to be active and close to her people. She's a smart pup who thrives on engagement and is eager to please, making her a wonderful companion for someone seeking an active and loving dog.
Ideal Home
Penny would do best in a home with older teens or adults who understand dog behavior and can help channel her energy positively. She needs a cat-free home due to her prey-driven behavior. An active household that enjoys walks, hikes, or runs would be ideal for Penny, as she loves mental and physical stimulation. Her ideal home will provide structure, patience, and understanding, allowing her time to adjust and blossom.
Ongoing Health
Penny is a healthy, spayed female who is up-to-date on vaccinations.
Training & Support
Penny is fully house-trained and is learning to be more comfortable with separation. She prefers not to be crated and may whine or bark when left alone, stemming from her deep bond with her humans. She can be trusted loose in the house when items are put away, but she enjoys chewing on dog beds when bored. Penny can come on a little strong during play with other dogs and is still learning dog social etiquette, so she would do best with confident, medium-to-large dogs who can set healthy boundaries. She can be protective of her space and high-value items around other dogs, so management during mealtime and treat times is currently in place and is responding well to clear boundaries. Penny can flinch easily and needs reassurance and calm, consistent care.
