Love (was Gardenia)

Love, who was found as a puppy nestled in a gardenia bush, truly embodies her new name! While she has the sweet face of a youngster, our vet estimates she's about 6 years old. She came to us emaciated, covered in fleas and ticks, with a significant skin condition. Sadly, she had recently had puppies, but none were found.

Love is an absolute charmer with all people – women, men, and children alike! We're still learning about her interactions with cats, but she's a bit wary of other dogs, though she shows curiosity. We're working with her to build her confidence. She's already crate-trained and is making great progress with house training, even while in a boarding facility. Love adores being close to her humans and will happily follow you around. She's dreaming of a family to shower with affection and to receive love in return!

Love is looking for a family that will cherish her and help her continue to build confidence around other dogs.

Ongoing Health

Love's initial vet visit was a pleasant surprise! She tested negative for heartworm, tick-borne illnesses, and intestinal parasites. She is now on monthly preventatives and is fully vaccinated. We are awaiting completion of her medication course before she can be spayed.

Training & Support

Love is crate trained and is learning to be house-trained. She's a bit wary of other dogs and is working on becoming more comfortable around them. She thrives on human companionship and will follow you around.
