Julieta is a sweet 7-year-old German Shepherd mix who weighs about 55 lbs. Don't let her size fool you; she absolutely adores hugs and affection and craves a supportive family to shower with love. Julieta and her brother, Romeo, were rescued at just 6 months old when they were underfed and lacked basic necessities. Thankfully, they received excellent care and rehabilitation, and now Julieta is eager to please and make her new family happy. She's very sociable, loves to play with other dogs, and has proven to be an intelligent and capable guardian. Julieta walks well on a leash, enjoys long walks filled with interesting smells, and listens well to commands. She's also a big fan of car rides, making her the perfect companion for adventures!
Ideal Home
Julieta would thrive in a home with a family that has a real intention to rescue a dog, understanding the needs and behaviors of street animals that require protection and education. Experience with dog behavior and training, along with high tolerance and patience for rescued dogs, is a must. Potential adopters should realize that rescued dogs may have been traumatized and require an adjustment period.
Ongoing Health
Julieta has completed a thorough health protocol, including being spayed, vaccinated (DHPPI, Rabies, Bordetella), dewormed, and microchipped. She tested negative for heartworm and 4DX diseases. She is up-to-date on monthly preventive treatment for fleas, ticks, and heartworm (Nexgard Spectra), and she has a health certificate and vaccination booklet.
Training & Support
Julieta is not house-trained and will require patience and consistency in this area. While she listens well to commands and enjoys outdoor time, she will benefit from continued positive reinforcement training to build confidence and address any lingering needs from her past.
