Meet Mia, a 3-year-old Labrador mix who weighs 44lbs and is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. Mia’s journey began with heartbreak when she was found abandoned with her newborn puppies in a dangerous area in Mexico. Tragically, she lost several puppies, but Mia remained devoted and loving, even while caring for her two surviving puppies. Despite her past, Mia is a resilient soul with a gentle, sweet nature and a calm, thoughtful presence. She enjoys playing with toys and plastic bottles, and she gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes. While she is social, she also appreciates having her own space and does best in a peaceful environment. Highly intelligent and eager to please, Mia responds quickly when called and loves her routine. In new environments or around new people, she may need a little time to settle in. When she feels unsure, she naturally seeks out small, quiet spaces where she feels safe and protected. Once she feels secure, her loving personality truly shines. Mia is wonderful with children and would fit beautifully into many families, especially a calm household or a senior family who can offer her patience, stability, and the second chance she so deeply deserves. Mia loves her food and enjoys her meals very much!
Ideal Home
Mia would thrive in a calm household or with a senior family who can offer her patience and stability. She would prefer a home with a yard, but a basement apartment or townhome would also be fine. She can live with other dogs but it's not a requirement.
Ongoing Health
Mia has no known medical issues and has been spayed.
Training & Support
Mia is house-trained but not crate-trained. She rarely barks and is not destructive. She walks well on a leash with a harness and is not leash reactive. She needs a bit more confidence when riding in the car. While not a flight risk once bonded, she may be cautious in new situations. She is not food aggressive.
