Shamus

Shamus is a sweet, loveable boy who came to us as a stray in June of 2023. He is between 3-4 years old and weighs in at about 70 lbs. When Shamus first arrived, he had little to no leash manners, but with hard work and dedication, he improved nicely and now loves to go for walks with his favorite staff. He does good with children but thinks he is a small lap dog and is not aware of his size, so he would probably knock them over (not on purpose, of course!). Shamus is crate trained and, when routinely/regularly taken out, is house-trained as well. He does good with hard toys and bones (no food aggression) and he absolutely loves ripping apart a stuffed toy, taking all the stuffing out, and lovingly carrying around the shell! A wonderful human has put $100 towards Shamus' adoption fee in hopes to help find him a forever home.

Ideal Home

Shamus would do best in a home without other animals, so no cats, dogs, or small animals for him, please! He would also benefit from a family with large dog handling skills.

Ongoing Health

Shamus is neutered and vaccinated.

Training & Support

While Shamus has improved greatly with his leash manners, he would benefit from attending extra training classes.
