He is a natural athlete who masters new skills with ease, whether it's agility or obedience. Jason loves the outdoors and would be the perfect partner for someone who enjoys hiking and adventure. He's also a reliable hiker, often checking back in with his handler, and he adores car rides. A volunteer who has spent many hours with him notes that Jason looks for guidance and clearly wants to do the right thing, suggesting he may have had limited companionship and direction in his past. With continued training and plenty of exercise, his adopter will be rewarded with a loyal and wonderful friend. Jason is a "sports dog" by nature, thriving on challenges and responding enthusiastically to play and training. He's obedient, focused, affectionate, and possesses a protective instinct when shown love. Jason completed his Dog School Training as a star student, impressing his trainer with his natural abilities and eagerness.
Ideal Home
Cortez Rescue recommends Jason be adopted by an experienced dog handler who can effectively continue his training and support him as he navigates the world. He shares his current foster home with a large pittie girlfriend and engages well with other dogs, but he can become reactive if a male dog attempts to dominate him. Close monitoring during introductions with new dogs is advised to ensure compatibility.

Training & Support
Jason knows basic leash skills and obedience commands, including sit, down, off, wait, heel (loose leash walking), and come. His trainer notes his natural athletic ability and responsiveness to training through games. Continued leash and obedience training, along with ample exercise, are key to his continued success.
