A little about them
Scarlett is a sweet, gentle, affectionate 3-year-old Labrador mix weighing 53 pounds. She loves staying close to her people, cuddling, asking for attention with her paw, and collecting little treasures to place beside her bed. Her tiny tail nub turns into full-body wiggles when she is excited.
She is low-to-medium energy, housetrained, crate trained, vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed. Scarlett is smart and eager to learn, already knowing “sit” and “touch.” She enjoys fuzzy toys and peanut butter-filled Kongs, is not destructive, and has shown no resource guarding.
Scarlett has made incredible progress with her foster family in just two weeks. She can be nervous in unfamiliar or overwhelming situations, including loud trucks, unfamiliar people in elevators, and encounters with other dogs. She is still working on leash manners but responds well to redirection and positive reinforcement.
Ideal Home
Scarlett would thrive with a loving, patient family that can help her continue building confidence and feel safe and secure. She may show fear-based reactivity around other dogs, so slow, gradual introductions in a calm environment are recommended. Her compatibility with cats and children is unknown.
Training & Support
Scarlett knows “sit” and “touch,” is housetrained and crate trained, and is continuing to improve her leash manners. Positive reinforcement and gentle redirection have been effective as she adjusts to new situations.
