Meet Sebastian!

Sebastian is a handsome young German Shepherd who's just beginning to show everyone the wonderful dog hiding beneath the uncertainty of shelter life. At around a year old, he's still settling in and learning that people can be trusted, and every day he's becoming more comfortable. On his first evaluation, Sebastian greeted his walker politely, leashed up with ease, and calmly made his way through the shelter. While he can be a little unsure of new situations, he looks to his person for reassurance and is easy to redirect. During his walk, he happily greeted another volunteer with tail wags, kisses, and a request for plenty of pets. This sweet boy already knows sit and shake, enjoys chasing a tennis ball, and absolutely melts for tummy rubs. He's gentle when taking treats, walks nicely on leash, and has a big, classic German Shepherd voice when he wants to be heard. Sebastian is smart, eager to learn, and would love a family willing to help build his confidence as he continues to adjust. Sebastian is still being evaluated, and as he continues to decompress, we're excited to learn even more about his personality. We have a feeling his best chapters are still ahead, and we can't wait to watch this sweet shepherd's confidence continue to bloom.

Ideal Home

Sebastian is looking for a patient and understanding family who can help build his confidence as he continues to adjust to a new environment. He is not yet tested with other dogs or cats.

Training & Support

Sebastian knows "sit" and "shake" and walks nicely on leash. He enjoys playing with a tennis ball and is gentle when taking treats. He can be vocal when he wants to be heard. He is smart and eager to learn, and will benefit from continued positive reinforcement and guidance as he adjusts.
