Artie is a fun-loving, high-energy Terrier mix, 3 years old and weighing 32 pounds. She's always ready for her next adventure, bringing enthusiasm and joy wherever she goes with her playful and affectionate nature. She absolutely loves people and greets strangers with pure excitement and a wagging tail. Artie is independent, outgoing, curious, and wonderfully silly, the kind of dog who will make you laugh daily, keep you moving, and then curl up beside you for snuggles at the end of the day.
Ideal Home
Artie thrives in an active environment and will do best with a family that enjoys walks, playtime, and outdoor activities. A yard or open space to run would be a huge bonus. While she doesn't need another dog, she would likely enjoy a playful canine companion. She can be a little on edge at first and is protective of her toys, but she backs off quickly and recognizes when another dog is done playing. She may bark or pull when she sees other dogs on leash, so continued training will help her polish those manners.

Artie is spayed and up to date on vaccinations.
Training & Support
Artie is house trained and crate trained, sleeping in her crate at night and staying crated for about 4-6 hours during the day. She may whine a bit but settles. She should continue to be crated when left alone, as she is curious and can get into things on counters if unsupervised. Artie should continue training to help her learn how to settle calmly and share toys more comfortably.

- Once completing the initial screen, you will be connected with the placement for a video chat.
- Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time.
- Our process starts with an application. If we think you might be a good fit, we will reach out to coordinate a phone interview. This is followed by a video call with the foster home. Virtual home visit, personal and vet reference checks are required to complete the process.
Transporation
Artie is currently located in San Antonio, Texas and is available to transport out of State to an adopter. Transport is included in our adoption donation.
