Meet Tigger 💜 — a sweet, soulful terrier mix with a long, lean build and an even bigger heart. This special girl has been through a lot and is ready to find the loving forever home she always deserved. Tigger is incredibly affectionate and bonds deeply with her people. She loves being close to her humans and will happily soak up all the love and attention you can give. She's fully potty trained, enjoys short bursts of playtime, and has a curious little explorer streak — she may wander off to investigate, but she always comes back on her own.
Ideal Home
Tigger would truly thrive in a calmer home where she can be the center of attention. She can be a little possessive of her humans and has a bossy, herding-style personality at times — similar to a Heeler or Aussie — and may nip at other dogs to “put them in their place.” She has never been in a fight and does not show aggression, but because of her strong personality, Tigger would do best as an only pet or with just one calm, respectful furry companion. Tigger would also do best in an adult home or one with older children (12+), where her boundaries and need for a peaceful environment will be understood. A fenced yard is a requirement for her ideal home, as she has a tendency to dart out the door if given the opportunity. While we understand that not everyone has a fenced yard, it would provide her with the safest and most stress-free environment. We are open to considering exceptions for the right home and family.
Ongoing Health
Tigger tested positive for early heartworm disease and is currently on a slow-kill treatment plan. She will need continued monitoring and prevention. She previously received ProHeart 12 and will continue follow-up treatment as directed by her veterinarian. Tigger also takes Vetmedin to support healthy heart function, though she does not have heart disease. Because she is recovering, she needs restricted activity while undergoing treatment.
Training & Support
Tigger can get along with other dogs and even cats when introductions are done slowly and properly. She may nip at other dogs to "put them in their place," but has never been in a fight and does not show aggression.
