Meet Peter!

Peter is a dapper, delightful, and slightly dramatic gentleman with the look of a distinguished fellow and the heart of a chaotic court jester. This adorable 19-pound terrier mix boasts a curly Shiba-style tail, a face that begs for kisses, and enough personality to star in his own sitcom. He was initially overwhelmed by the shelter's noise and chaos, but in a loving foster home, the real Peter has emerged: quirky, sweet, eager to please, and endearingly high-strung. He knows "sit" and "stay," walks beautifully on leash, and loves hikes and strolls. Peter's absolute favorite thing in life is car rides, but he also enjoys outdoor adventures, playing fetch, his toys, and being the center of attention. He's also a big fan of cuddling and resting his head on your shoulder.

Ideal Home

Peter is great with new people, men, and respectful kids. He prefers smaller female dogs with slow introductions, as his play style is very "bitey-face." He would thrive as a spoiled only dog or with a playful, small female companion. Peter is afraid of big dogs and may chase cats if they bother him, so he'd do best in a home where cats mind their own business. Due to resource guarding with food and his bed, we are not recommending him for homes with small children.

Peter is working on resource guarding with food and his bed. He generally walks great on leash and is potty trained.
