Chaka

Chaka is an energetic and loving boy who is estimated to be 4-5 years old and is a possible Boxer mix weighing around 50 lbs. He was rescued from animal control last fall and was successfully treated for heartworms. In his foster home, Chaka has been great with his foster mom and her children. He is a very enthusiastic dog with a playful personality, so he would do best with an active adopter who can provide him with plenty of exercise to keep his happy spirit fulfilled. Chaka is currently working on his house training and leash manners, so he will need a patient adopter who can continue to guide him in these areas. It appears Chaka may not have received much attention in his previous home and doesn't know any commands, but despite this, he is incredibly affectionate! While in a securely fenced area, he shows no interest in bothering the foster's cats or chickens. However, he does have a strong prey drive, so he has not been directly supervised around them.

Ideal Home

Chaka would thrive in an active household with an adopter who can provide him with ample exercise and continue his training.

Chaka has been fully vetted, neutered, and microchipped. He has also completed treatment for heartworms.

Training & Support

Chaka is working on house training and leash pulling. He would benefit from an adopter who can continue to reinforce good manners and potentially teach him some basic commands.
