Introducing Grover Chillington!
Grover's story started at a high-kill shelter in Houston, where he was unfortunately placed on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, a wonderful foster family stepped in, recognizing his wonderful qualities and preventing a tragic end. Now, Grover is ready to find his forever home and show everyone just how special he is!
We initially thought Grover was around 6 years old, but after multiple vet visits, it's estimated he's closer to 2-3 years old. He's a perfect medium size at about 48 pounds, with a gentle, old soul. Grover is the epitome of "chill." He loves to be by his people's side, whether that's lounging in the backyard, accompanying you on a leisurely walk, or claiming the coziest spot for a nap. While he enjoys exploring, he's not a high-energy dog. A few daily walks and quality time with his family are all he needs to be happy. He's incredibly well-behaved, even when given free rein of a farm, always staying close to his foster dad. He's just as content on or off leash.
Ideal Home
Grover would thrive in a home that offers plenty of affection, a soft place to sleep, and people who appreciate a devoted canine companion. He's a little shy at first, but quickly warms up and will be rolling over for belly rubs in no time!
Ongoing Health
Grover is currently finishing up his heartworm treatment and will be ready for transport in July. He is fully vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and up-to-date on all prevention.
Training & Support
Grover is fully house-trained and has excellent house manners. He settles nicely indoors, is not destructive, and gets along well with everyone he meets. He enjoys making new friends and has done well with other dogs and farm animals. His gentle and friendly nature wins people and animals over quickly. He's not a big barker, which is a bonus if he does have hound or cattle dog in his mix!
